About this place

Ibiza: “party ’til you drop” in old Spanish. On this stunning bohemian island, where superclubs and family-friendly resorts coexist, blissful beaches meet dazzling sunsets.

The White Isle may be known for its nightlife, but it also has a more sedate side with old-fashioned towns, hidden coves, and pine-covered slopes that will make you feel peaceful.

The resorts also come in a variety of sizes and shapes. While Playa Es Cana’s Hippy Market will pique your interest and Santa Eulalia is the place to go for fine dining, Playa d’En Bossa has a playful attitude thanks to its watersports and lively beach bars. Ibiza Town must be the place to go if you want a tonne of history and a dash of refinement.

Your guide to Ibiza

All about destination

All about Ibiza

Ibiza, one of the largest party destinations in the world, is smaller than Majorca and Menorca, its neighbouring Balearic Islands, and is located about 100 miles (ca. 160 kilometers) off the eastern coast of Spain. However, the White Isle offers much more than just nightclubs, including some of Europe’s most stunning beaches, the charms of old Ibiza Town, and a relaxed, bohemian atmosphere that is difficult to find anywhere. The island’s northern coast is the least populated, and with its rocky coves, lonely beaches, and pine-covered dunes, it is simple to get away from the people and enjoy a tiny piece of heaven.

Time to visit

When is the ideal time to book an Ibiza vacation rental?

Although the sunny summer months of late May to early October are the busiest, Ibiza is at its most picturesque in the early spring when the almond trees are in bloom. Flights into Ibiza International Airport come from towns all throughout Europe, making it simple to travel to the island. Additionally, there are ferries from Palma on the neighbouring island of Majorca as well as from Valencia and Barcelona on the Spanish mainland.

Top things to do

What are the top things to do while visiting Ibiza?

Enjoy the sunset from one of the island’s several bars

There is no better way to enjoy one of Ibiza’s famous sunsets than with a bottle of wine or a cocktail at one of the chic cafés or bars on the island.

Cafe Mambo, which is situated on the iconic San Antonio strip, provides a taste of the island’s nightlife. It was established in 1994 and draws some of the most well-known DJs in the world, as well as a varied crowd of people of all ages who come to enjoy the lively atmosphere.

Another popular location is Cala Conta, where live bands perform at the Sunset Ashram beach bar as the sky turns golden and crimson.

Explore Cala d’Hort for a more transcendent experience, which offers stunning views of Es Vedra, a tiny, isolated rocky island thought to emit a mysterious aura.

Enjoy the beautiful Mediterranean Sea

Ibiza is a great place for scuba diving, as you might anticipate for a Mediterranean island with so many amazing beaches. The location has warm, clear water that is suitable for both novice and expert divers. There are also grassy seabeds, underwater caverns, and submerged shipwrecks in the region, which are all home to amazing fauna. You might even be fortunate enough to see a whale or a group of dolphins. You can always rent a boat to cruise the coastline if you’re feeling less daring, or you can pick up a snorkel and explore one of the island’s many coves.

Visit Formentera Island

Formentera is the smallest of the Balearic Islands and is frequently visited as a day excursion by tourists staying in Ibiza. It may be reached through a brief ferry ride or by private water taxi. Once there, you’ll discover an island with pristine beaches, whitewashed villages, salt plains, and sand dunes that seem more Caribbean than Mediterranean. You won’t find any fast-food joints or enormous hotels here because of the rigorous laws that govern growth. Instead, the pine-tree-covered countryside, heathery scrub, and the Ses Salines Natural Park, which is protected by Unesco, provide a haven for animals, especially birds.

The posh resort of Es Pujols is the island’s hotspot, but if you’re looking for a more laid-back atmosphere, head to Platja de Migjorn beach, a four-mile stretch of white sand where you’ll find outstanding chiringuitos (beach front shacks serving up fresh seafood) and a variety of peaceful cafés and restaurants.

Wander through the old town

The beautiful old town of Ibiza, also known as Dalt Vila in the local Catalan, was initially occupied more than 2,500 years ago and has since evolved into a sophisticated enclave rich in history and culture. A visual feast awaits you as you stroll through the town’s meandering streets. If you grow weary of the expansive vistas of the red rooftops and lush pine forests of Formentera across the Es Freus strait, enter a nearby gallery or the Ibiza Museum of Contemporary Art. The museum exhibits an impressive collection of modern works in addition to changing exhibitions in an impressive and serene old military bunker, some of which are from the sixteenth century. After that, order a jug of cool sangria and relax in a wicker chair on one of the town’s numerous quiet squares.
